Position Overview

La Crosse Area Development Corporation (LADCO) is seeking a motivated, detail-oriented professional to serve as our Economic Development Program Manager. This entry-level position offers hands-on experience in project management, research, communications, investor relations, and daily nonprofit operations focused on strengthening the economy of La Crosse County.

The ideal candidate is organized, proactive, analytical, and thrives in a fast-paced, multi-tasking environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support implementation and tracking of economic development projects and initiatives

  • Coordinate with businesses, local governments, and partners throughout La Crosse County for ongoing visits to identify their needs & barriers to growth (also known as Business Retention & Expansion Visits or BREs) for final reporting to the board and partners

  • Conduct commercial & economic market, available real-estate, demographic, and labor force research; prepare reports and presentations

  • Maintain investor database and CRM; assist with investor communications and engagement

  • Assist with marketing materials, website updates, newsletters, and social media content that promote LADCO, investing in LADCO, available properties, and more

  • Coordinate logistics and meeting preparation for executive, board, event, and community meetings and events

  • Provide operational and administrative support including grant tracking and reporting

Qualifications

  • Associate or Bachelor’s degree in business, economics, public administration, marketing, communications, project management, or related field (or equivalent experience)

  • Entry-level candidates encouraged to apply; internships or related experience a plus

  • Strong organizational, time management, and communication skills

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office; Excel, Adobe Acrobat/pdfs, plus experience with database/CRM systems helpful

  • Ability to analyze data and communicate findings clearly

  • Self-starter comfortable managing multiple priorities simultaneously
