La Crosse Airport Receives President's Award

Each year, LADCO’s President’s Award recognizes an organization whose leadership, strategic action, and commitment to the region have strengthened economic vitality and long-term competitiveness—especially during moments that demand resilience and forward thinking.
This year’s award was presented to an organization that exemplifies those qualities. The La Crosse Regional Airport.
Over the past several years, the airport has navigated a period of significant transition and uncertainty. Shifts within the airline industry had far-reaching impacts on regional airports across the country, testing the stability of local air service nationwide. Rather than stepping back in the face of those challenges, the La Crosse Regional Airport team leaned in.
Working in close partnership with County and City leadership—and with LADCO administering and facilitating the Airport Work Group throughout the process—the airport helped secure approval of a $500,000 fund designed to attract new airline service and reduce risk for carriers entering the market. This proactive, collaborative approach positioned the region to respond strategically to industry changes rather than react to them.
That effort is already delivering results. In 2025, the La Crosse Regional Airport announced the addition of Allegiant Air, welcoming a new airline to the market and expanding travel options for residents and businesses. Beginning February 6, Allegiant will offer nonstop service from La Crosse to Phoenix–Mesa, Arizona, followed by a second nonstop route to Orlando–Sanford, Florida, launching May 21.
While these new routes mark meaningful progress, the work is far from finished. The airport team remains actively engaged—alongside regional partners—in efforts to attract additional airline service and further expand connectivity. This ongoing work reflects a long-term commitment to strengthening regional air service for businesses, families, and visitors alike.
For its resilience, strategic leadership, and continued commitment to the region—even in the face of significant industry headwinds—LADCO is proud to present the President’s Award to the La Crosse Regional Airport.
